Making. Gingerbread houses.

We had our gingerbread house evening last night. I didn't make one because I was too busy doing everything else, but I did put one together before the event so that I could be sure it worked. Here's the finished product.

I wrote a tutorial on putting it together (with photographs) here, in case you want to make one yourself. And we got all our kits from helpful and friendly Karen at Gingerbread Folk, together with icing and enough lollies to make 100 children completely hyper for a full weekend.

Karen assured me that her houses don't need pins to be put together, and for the most part that was true. I had to rescue a couple of people - mostly children - who couldn't quite get the hang of it, but they'll be back with more expertise next year.
