Making. Dollshouse floors Attempt 3

I fiddled around with printable floor papers from this site, but in the end, I wasn't happy with the authenticity.

So I am now going with paddlepop sticks with the ends trimmed. And yes, I am trimming both ends of every paddle pop stick. It is a long process, but it is very rewarding.

The picture on the left is the floor of one of the attic rooms. It's been filled with putty in the gaps, sanded and then stained with a strong instant coffee solution. I'll varnish it soon and then finish the room next door to it. Right now my hands just smell of coffee.

I'm debating about whether or not to stain the remainder of the rooms. Whitewashing the boards and adding light stencils a la the picture below might be another nice look. Perhaps I'll use that for the bedroom.
